Hong Kong Alliance Leaders Detained 1,500 Days Without Trial

The trial of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China has been postponed yet again, now set for 22 January 2026.

Activists Lee Cheuk Yan and Chow Hang Tung have already spent more than 1,500 days behind bars without conviction, a shocking breach of the presumption of innocence. Their indefinite detention exposes how Hong Kong’s authorities are abusing the courts as a political weapon, punishing dissent under the guise of “national security”.

HKLRM Executive Director, Christopher Mung denounced the government for “turning justice into persecution”, saying the accused are being “punished before trial”. He urged continued public solidarity, reminding supporters that “those imprisoned for their beliefs must never feel forgotten.”

Global Outrage Over Chinese Sweatshops

Global Unions Unite Against Authoritarianism

Chinese-funded enterprises across Asia and Europe are facing backlash for exploitative labour practices. In Cambodia, 7,000 garment workers went on strike over harsh fines and gruelling conditions. In Vietnam, hundreds protested unpaid wages and excessive hours, with some earning as little as USD 280 a month. Even in Italy, Chinese-run factories face union action over inhumane treatment. From Cambodia to Vietnam, and even into Europe, reports reveal a pattern of overwork, withheld pay and repression disguised as “efficiency”. As labour disputes grow, critics warn that “Chinese capital” has become synonymous with global exploitation. I risks not only social and legal backlash but also reputational collapse for “Chinese capital” on the global stage.

London Rally Says No to CCP as Global Protests Mark China’s National Day

As China celebrated its National Day, people across the world took to the streets to expose what they called the bloody truth behind the Chinese Communist Party’s image of prosperity. In London, around 200 participants from Hong Kong, Uyghur, Tibetan, Chinese and Taiwanese diaspora communities gathered outside the Royal Mint, where they projected the message “Say No to CCP” onto the building’s façade in defiance.

HKLRM Executive Director Christopher Mung said Beijing of betraying its promises to Hong Kong and stripping away its freedoms. “The CCP’s history is a story of betraying its own people,” he said. He also warned that the Chinese government’s close ties with autocrats such as Vladimir Putin and Myanmar’s military junta demonstrate how its repressive influence has already spread across the globe.
