In the Year of the Dragon, we visited the Lunar New Year Market in Birmingham and Guildford. The Lunar New Year Market in Birmingham, organised by West Midlands HKers Support CIC, attracted a larger number of Hongkongers. While the vendors showcased various handicrafts and delicacies with unique Hong Kong features, we presented an exhibition of Hong Kong’s independent trade union movement to satisfy both the appetite and soul of participants.
This month, we collaborated with the UK Welcomes Refugee to hold a webinar on labour rights in the UK, educating Hongkongers in the UK about their employment rights and encouraging them to join trade unions to better integrate into society.
We are planning to bring the talk and exhibition to other areas in the UK. Keep a watch out for our next event in your town or city!
